In a Vase on Monday - The Garland and Pierre de Ronsard

With temperatures of 90ºF/32ºC, the roses in my garden have an increasingly shorter shelf life.  It's time to get them inside, where they will last a few days longer.

Here, I've used The Garland and Pierre de Ronsard in an antique Sure Seal mason jar from my grandmother's house.  It's actually my favorite "vase"!

I'm linking with Rambling in the Garden for this week's In a Vase on Monday meme.

  3. How nice to meet you.
Such an inviting blog with a totally different perspective. Those bloodred poppies! Do they have a war connotation - Flanders Field - like they do in the UK?
Your Garland rose looks very similar to the one I grow in a greenhouse - and I was considering it for next Monday's arrangement, but it seems to drop its petals if I breathe on it. Mine is called Adelaide d'Orleans. I wonder it the two are related.
I don't know Pierre de Ronsard, but it looks wonderful. And yes, I am also a fan of Mason jars and the like. They have such a robust character which contrasts nicely with elegant flowers.
