Bloom Day, November 2014

Once again, I am joining other garden bloggers for Bloom Day at May Dreams Gardens, where bloggers from all over the world post photos of what is blooming in their gardens on the 15th of each month.

Like any other November, the pickin's in my garden are quite slim right now.  We had our first frost last week, and it has been raining on and off for the past couple of days.  So, no I have a frog in my throat.  Lovely

The amazing color of Benjamin Britten

Abraham Darby is not done yet!

William Shakespeare

A rainbow, seen from the kitchen porch

And me?  Well, I'm keeping my toes up by the fire until my throat gets better.

What's blooming today in your garden?

    1. Hari, how exciting to receive comments from Indonesia! Yes, I can imagine that lavender would not do well in your climate because it does not like humidity. As you can see, roses are my favorite...

  2. So sorry to hear you are not feeling your best today. Stay warm by that lovely fire. You have a lovely selection of roses and they are a bonus at the end of the year when everything else is winding down. Shakespeare is a beauty. And what an incredible view.

    1. Yes, the view is tranquil, but it does make tree placement a challenge! I'm feeling fine, actually, but sometimes I think I need an excuse to sit down. :)

    1. Yes, my roses "shut down" over the summer with the scorching heat & sun, only to rebound again in the fall. Makes life interesting!

    1. Thank you, Patricia. Although I have been living in Spain for 23 years, we've only been in this house for 3 yrs. As you can imagine, I have loads of gardening ahead of me!

    1. Yes, they certainly are! Not many people grow them here, however. I think they are under the misconception that roses are frail, delicate and disease-prone.

    1. Yes, unlike northeastern gardens, with all the rain, lush greenery and enormous trees, our views go on here for miles...

  9. I hope you are feeling a bit better today. Lovely Roses and was surprised to read you have had your first frost. I need to do a bit more research on Spanish weather, don't I ;)

    1. Yes, it seems that when most people visit Spain, they usually visit sunny, beachy, coastal areas. Inland, however, our weather is quite diffferent. And, at 2,100 feet, it does get quite cold here in the winter.
