But, we had a dinner party for my eldest son's 15th (15!!) birthday this weekend, so I threw together a vase (well, actually, a water pitcher) with Versigny and Philadelphus. Plunk-and-go is still my style of arranging, so please forgive me.
Look who else stopped by for the party!
Happy hunting, my little friend.
(Athene Noctua, "Little Owl")
Oh that owl is adorable...I love your vase...a perfect combo...free and lovely. It is the new and more preferred way of arranging I recently read!
ResponderEliminarIt also describes my gardening style. While I do put some thought into plant placement and color schemes, I tend to let plants do their own thing once established.
EliminarOh so pretty, Karen, and how lovely to have your little visitor too. Enjoy your garden as it matures - and your sons!
ResponderEliminarYes, everything does grow faster than we think, children and plants alike. I just realized this afternoon that my almond tree hasn't a single nut on it, but it's now well over 7 feet tall. It actually makes shade!
EliminarI understand the hesitation about removing flowers from the garden - I was the same way. I recommend starting with tiny vases - you may be surprised how addicted you become to enjoying the fruits of your labor in the house too. Your birthday bouquet is beautiful and I love your visitor!
ResponderEliminarBut, Kris, your arrangements are always so colorful and creative! I do tend to bring in smaller bits, but nothing postable. Right now, I'm sitting next to a sprig of honeysuckle in a little bottle. Yum!
EliminarLovely vase, I have Philadelphus flowering now too. Great image of the Little owl, we have one who brings its babies to our roof but I never manage to get a good photograph.
ResponderEliminarMy goodness, Christina, if they are only some 15cm tall, how tiny the babies must be!
EliminarLovely rose and Philadelphus together, your arrangement looks delightful. And a ittle Owl, what a treat! Do you have Scope owls there too?
ResponderEliminarChloris, I am no expert on owls, but I did a post on some other owls in November (http://ladyoflamancha.blogspot.com.es/2014/10/my-birthday-was-not-long-ago-happy.html). I know there are some very large ones our there somewhere because we can hear them when the sun goes down, but we rarely catch a glimpse of them. The Little Owls are the only ones out during the day, and they put up quite a racket - sounds like a tomcat yowling!
Eliminarsuch a pretty vase and an adorable owl!
ResponderEliminarDear Karen, There is notthing wrong with your style of flower arrangements. I love the colour of your roses. I saw the first roses in my garden. Groetjes, Hetty
